So, I have that crisis at the moment. I’m not very happy with what I achieved and created, it is a pain no to be able to be happy about what I have. So this post is dedicated to the things that were important to me, that I managed to do over the years. Bear with me here ok? It’s my Blog after all
The first thing I did and continued to do for 12 years is dancing. I danced Modern Jazz under Ute Hartmann (R.I.P). I wasn’t bad…I wasn’t the best either. But we participated and won various tornaments and I stood on stages from the age of 3. I loved the feeling just before a performance, totally excited and a bit nervous and than I stepped out and the light of the spots shone in my eyes and I just started, hardly thinking.

In primary school I was scouted for a choir. I stayed in it for some years and loved it. We recorded a CD and a tape (hey, it were the 90’s mkay!).

The white haired gentleman and conductor is Klaus Kuehling, my old choir master (here in China for a choir tornament)

In 9th grade I successfully applied for an internship in Theater Des Westens (“theatre of the west”), a well-known Berlin theatre. I worked mainly for the theatrical property but got the chance to also look into the work of scenic design, sound design, light design and conducting work. When I worked there, a world premier was shown of Schwejk it easy! A musical based on the book The Good Soldier Švejk (1923) by Jaroslav Hašek.
Mai 19, 2001 was the world premier. It was a busy and chaotic night and by far the most awesome expierences regarding art I’ve ever had.

In 2007 I met Richard Kelsey. A selflabeled producer and musician – he is a terrible producer. I recorded about 5 songs in his tiny apartment that turned out to be horrible due to very bad preparation. I still feel it an achievement though, because this taught me a good lesson in why and how to prepare before a recording session.
That’s about it. Obviously, I only listed creative experiences, one may ask why, well… that’s what I wanna be good at: art.
Upcoming events:
In April 2009, I’ll be flying to Germany and hopefully record some good songs with my friend and soundesigner Lars.
If I prepare better this time, it can only fail because of my singing ability not because of lack of support and preparation. I know I can do it. Wish me luck world!
Good luck! I know you can do it too
Terrible producer, eh? Especially when he doesn’t even charge money, pays for train tickets, writes and plays the bass and guitar parts, and even provides housing and food.
What a bad guy.
But you’re right about the unprepared.
Welcome to reality.
